I’m relatively new to the writing life.
To be honest as a child I wasn’t fond of writing or reading. I enjoyed having stories read to me and I had a colourful imagination but I was never a writer, in fact tried to avoid English as subject at school. I was always shy when it came to reading aloud in class and caused me anxiety. And maybe it was because I wasn’t fond of reading that I didn’t write, because I didn’t have the “best’ words to write with. I’m not sure if I even do now. Having said all that I love love love books!
Long after I finished university I discovered a true love of reading novels, not just those dry, boring technical scientific text books. I rediscovered the joy of expressing my thoughts through writing and journaling.
I hope you can join me on my journey to a life of writing here on this blog, as I learn how to develop my writing, find my writing voice, tell stories, share my thoughts, and discover “better” words to express myself and share in my writing bungles, which I am sure there will be plenty of.
