It’s been nearly two years since I moved back to the coast after many years of inner city living.
I have to say my initial reluctance and hesitation in giving up the cafe strips and the ease of the more cultural life style was far out weighed with a life by the beach.
I’ve seemed to notice more active and healthier people around, more personal training groups, more self motivated active people.
There’s a sense of aliveness in walking down to the beach and smelling the fresh ocean air, getting your feet and bathers sandy. I know it all sounds so cliche but I can’t help but express it in that way because that’s exactly how I feel.
Taking long walks to sketch the a seascape is highly recommended.
An absolute zen and mindfulness moment.
Then there’s Zumba Pete
I really don’t thing that’s his name. I actually call him the “zumba” guy but I’ve heard others call him “Zumba Pete”. Every morning that I’ve gone for a walk down to the Scarborough foreshore there he is. It could be a cold Winter’s day and he’ll be there with his kickass speaker, his bandanna and his baordies, facing the ocean and dancing away and loving life!
I don’t want to know anymore about him , I want him to remain a mystery and admire him from a distance. I have thought of joining him at times but I enjoy the mystery more.
Today he was dancing to Uptown Funk
Overall the decision to move back to the beach has been fantastic and I can’t imagine moving back to the burbs. I’m much more happier and healthier.
