It’s Autumn and it still feels like Summer. The Scarborough redevelopment construction is finally complete and we can now enjoy the “new” Scarborough.
On one of our leisure morning walks we met Natalia from Brazil. She had only just arrived in Perth, in fact Australia the day before, here to study English at the English school in Scarborough. Speaking very limited and broken English she wanted to know if it was ok and safe to pat Teddy. Teddy lives for those patting, scratching and cuddle moments from strangers. He’s such a Teddy Tart! 🙂
Seeing Natalia with a big smile on her face as she took in the spectacular coastal sights , standing facing the ocean with her arms spread wide open she looked at me and Teddy and said “this is my dream!”
I made me feel very lucky to be living in a part of the world that most come to see and spend time and money visiting.
By the way, I was told by some Brazilian friends who live in Scarborough, that it’s nicknamed ScarBrazil simply for the reason that so many Brazilians are choosing to live here. We even now have a Brazilian street food outlet with music entertainment in their alfresco area.
I’m looking forward to Summer at the end of the year when the twilight markets are back and salsa dancing lessons at sunset in the ampitheater starts up again.
