Sugar Candy Day

November 4, 2016 By: Aggiecomment

When I was thinking about what to sketch for Sugar Candies day, I immediately thought of Super Lemons (the horrid individually wrapped lollies coated with a super ultra sour lemon taste, actually it’s not even a taste, more like a horrid sensation and invasion of my happy unviolated taste buds. But the more I thought about the less inclined I was to want to sketch it because of my introduction to Super Lemons.  I’ll tell you the story another day and maybe even an accompanying sketch if I dare and I don’t regress back to that day.  Suffice to say I was 17 and on my first overseas trip on a student exchange to Japan. With that in mind I transition to today’s sugar candy sketch.

I cant count how many times I’ve watch Willy Wonka but I loved it as a child and I still love it now as a grown up child! Actually I’ve never grown up.

It was a kids lolly playground, a place I wanted to live, a place I wanted to have …but not like Veruca Salt in the movie, the spoilt brat that wanted EVERYTHING and wanted it NOW!

Those everlasting gobstoppers looked like just the best kids’ lolly!  This is a much happier sketch and brings back happy memories and experiences wouldn’t you say?

I wonder if you can get gobstopper now? and where?
