February 15, 2021 By: Aggiecomment

Beckoned. It was time to leave. Today’s creative writing challenge from my online writing group was to write a six word story based on the above photograph.

Water is Rising : FlashNano 2020

November 3, 2020 By: Aggiecomment

Trapped. Faces of despair and helplessness distorted by the reflections of crystalline water. Glimmer of sunlight fading fast. Sinking deeper. The last bubbles of air rising above his finger tips. Blackness. Then, nothing. Hope. Lost forever.

Why I Write : 10 Reasons

October 26, 2020 By: Aggiecomment

I was recently asked why I write.  And although I unconsciously I know why I write, I don’t think I have often verbally expressed my reasons for writing.  To hear myself telling someone the reasons why I write is somewhat empowering and confirming but that the same time exposing.  There is a degree of vulnerability […]

Her Death Changed Me : Life Lessons in Death (Part 2 )

August 6, 2020 By: Aggiecomment

It wasn’t just hers, it was my dad’s as well.  Both equally strengthening my views on life and death. Life events like death humbles us and opens us up.  It helps us appreciate life more and that life is a gift.  Prior to experiencing a loved one passing on, I really didn’t have a sense that […]

And Then There Was One : I Lost a Part of Me (Part 1)

July 31, 2020 By: Aggie2 Comments

When once there were two. “She’s in a coma!  you have to come! We’ve been trying to find you!” Confused. I didn’t know what she was talking about.  “Huh? Whaa….a coma? How? Where is she?“. Her sister has never called me. Not any of her seven siblings has ever called me.  There was no reason […]

Urban Sketching : Angove Street, North Perth

July 23, 2020 By: Aggiecomment

We’ve been very fortunate here in Perth.  With the way our State government has handled the COVID pandemic it means that Perthites are able to enjoy freedom with minor social distancing restrictions and hygiene requirements.  It also means that Urban Sketchers in Perth are able to be out and about enjoying what we like to […]

Urban Sketching : Meeting Satan Wasn’t Part of Our Plan

July 14, 2020 By: Aggiecomment

Six foot three, I surmised. I was sitting on my ultra small portable stool so he looked tall. His dark skin gleamed from the late morning sun like a newly polished car. He appeared to be of African descent with an American accent. He smiled looking curiously at us then asked “are you all artists?“. […]

Are You A Stand Up Wiper?

July 7, 2020 By: Aggie11 Comments

Of late my blog posts have been introspective and reflective. Today I want to just side track a bit and share with you a recent dinner discussion. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if it was an appropriate anecdote to share. But here it is anyway. I’m not sure how this came up in our […]

Finding the Blueprint to Overnight Success

June 26, 2020 By: Aggie2 Comments

As an artist and retired psychologist, and new to the field of writing I struggle at times with inspiration and motivation. I see and read other writers works and wonder if there is a magic pen that they write with. I feel similar with my art, sketching and fitness. What is it that established artist […]

Hi I’m Aggie

I'm a writer, artist and blogger. In my previous life I was a psychologist. Exploring life and happiness through writing, sketching, food, travel, and people has taught me to seek joy in everything I do and be grateful for what I have. I have a playful curiosity. I like to rock climb for fun, write to tell stories, share my thoughts and insights, and sketch from daily life embracing everyday-ness .
My mission is to live authentically and mindfully everyday, and to live on purpose with passion.
If you would like to connect, I'd love to hear from you. More about Aggie ...
